The corporation had been knowledgeable enough to at least use skilled construction workers to build the town homes. Although not incredibly stylish by any means, the home was built very sturdy. So sturdy that their wooden staircase that led to the second floor did not make a single creak as Saraina went upstairs. This had helped her tremendously on her nightly escapes to the lake throughout the years. She flicked on the light to the short hallway that led to her bedroom on the right, her father's bedroom at the very end of the hallway, and the small bathroom on the left side. She could see the light escaping from the bottom of the bathroom door. She stepped closer, hearing the muffled whir of her father's electric shaver.
It stopped suddenly. She heard it being set down on the bathroom counter and suddenly the door opened.
"Saraina? Well good morning!" Saraina's father had dark eyes, but when looking at her they always twinkled.
She smiled, "Thought you were still asleep."
"Asleep? When have you known me to sleep in?" He laughed. He sniffed at the air, "I wanted to get up early to make you some breakfast, but it seems someone's beaten me to it already… Since I know today's a big day for you I decided to clean myself up a little first! You still want me to go along with you, right?"
"Yes, of course I do!" She replied, stepping aside to let him pass by.
