Saraina opened her bedroom door. The lamp on her desk was still on. It made the sunlight from her window seem brighter. She walked over to her desk and clicked off the lamp switch. She unzipped the main compartment of her yellow backpack that she had left hanging on the back of her desk chair. From the top of her desk she grabbed a pre-folded map of the Sinnoh region and tucked it away in her backpack. She had already packed a few items in there the night before, including a pokemon field guide for identifying wild pokemon and two sets of clothing. Behind that compartment was a second compartment that was just as large as the first. That one held her sleeping bag and a small inflating pump. The smallest compartment at the front of the bag held a compass, portable laundry detergent packets, clothes pins, and a line for drying. All these items, of course, insisted upon by her father.
