Chapter 2 - Page 4

"It's been nearly an hour…" Saraina's dad sounded annoyed. It was pretty rare to see him ever be in a sour mood. He almost looked like a different person.

"Where is she?" Saraina asked him looking around, scanning the sea of fellow graduates in their burgundy gowns and caps. All of her classmates looked happy as their family members surrounded them with proud grins and hugs. Some classmates even held flower bouquets while others were being presented with brand new pokeballs that held their very first pokemon. Saraina wasn't concerned with either flower bouquets or even pokemon. She was trying really hard to not show how frantic she was feeling about her mother not arriving yet.

"You're…sure she said she'd come...?" She asked softly, still scanning every face in the crowd.

Dad gave a half eyeroll, trying to avoid Saraina's gaze, "She certainly knows about it. We each got a ceremony invitation. I know this because that's what the school does even for divorced parents. They send each parent an invitation so that each household can still attend. Besides, I e-mailed and video called her. She said she'd be here…!"
